Two Lakes
Dvě jezera (Two Lakes), a bibliophilic edition of a set of ten poems, printed for the first time, from Vladimír Holan's manuscript collection Ale je hudba (Yet There is Music) that was never published, is documented by Jiří Kolář in his journal Očitý svědek (The Eyewitness), in an entry from 20 Feb. 1949: “The current famous editorial board of the Borový publishing house has banned the publication of Vladimír Holan's new book Ale je hudba (Yet There is Music). L. Fikar had the book type-copied so that at least a few of his closest friends could read it. It is about two hundred and fifty poems from the years 1939 to 1949, poems that are dirty without fear, and take one to the purgatory without the suffering.”
