Abeceda pro Futuru
2nd place
The publication brings together six years of the work of the dramaturgy and visual identity of the Futura Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague. The thematic framework of the publication is the relationship between graphic design and fine art. It is an extension of the author’s doctoral thesis and a specific manual – the closure and recapitulation of the Futura Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague identity project which the author cooperated on for five years. The book also contains research and a reflection of the theme of the identity of cultural institutions, presents the results and above all the process of creating identities which are connected with specific authors, artists, curators or co-workers. The book block of the publication is always made up of a double page with perforation on the front page which when generally leafing through the pages contains a selection of posters arranged alphabetically and a reminiscence essay by Michal Novotný. After tearing the perforation on the edges of each page the inner pages provide us with a view of the sketch, process of the creation of motifs and also reference works afterthe final characters of the Alphabet. The publication comes in a full canvas hardcover. Very high quality graphic paper was used for the easier division of the double pages. Special attention is paid to adequate creative and technical workmanship.
